Hello world!

You might be thinking “another Hello World post?” – but stay with me. This one’s different.

A Fresh Start

Looking at my work over the past year, I realized something amazing, something important.

I have grown, my skills have expanded, my projects are evolving. The only thing that hadn’t kept pace was my website.

It was time to bring everything into alignment and it’s the perfect timing to do so.

I typically try to redesign my site every year as it helps me stay current with WordPress and working with different themes. After a year of building sites in WordPress using various themes and plugins, I now have strong views on building WordPress sites.

No More “Premium” Themes

I’ve chosen to build on WordPress’s core 2025 theme, moving away from premium templates and builder plugins. Why? Because I believe in the power of simplicity.

The Twenty Twenty Five theme just dropped a few weeks ago. After using this theme for one evening, I knew it was going to be come my base theme moving forward for every WordPress project I do from here on out.

No More Builder Plugins

If I am ditching premium theme, that means I need to ditch the expensive builder plugins that power nearly all of them. This means no more Elementor, no more Sprectra, Beaver Builder, or even Divi.

I’m going to use the Gutenberg block builder.

With the new version 19.0 being released, it’s more capable than ever. Why do I need anything else?

The Road Forward

My new site will better capture who I am today. I’ve updated my project portfolio to showcase recent work.

What excites me most is the potential this platform creates. I have so many new stories to tell, insights to share, and ideas to explore. This redesign isn’t just about a new look – it’s about creating the foundation for what’s coming next. Blog posts, resource guides, videos, I’m going all in.

Thank you for being part of this journey. I can’t wait to share more with you through this refreshed space that finally feels like home.
